Floquet, Charles

   political figure
   Born in saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, Charles Floquet was a republican deputy in the National Assembly (1871), president of the Chamber of Deputies (1885-88, 1889-93), and premier (1888) during the period of Boulangism, which he opposed. He is famous for having wounded General georges boulanger in a duel. Floquet served as a senator from 1894 to 1896.
